Jefferson County Emergency Net Preamble

Calling
the Jefferson County Emergency Net into session. This is (your call
) and my name is (your name ). I
will be the net control station for this evening. This net meets every Tuesday evening at 9:00pm local time and is
a service of the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club. This net is designed to train amateur radio operators in handling
emergency communications when needed.
You do not have to be a member of the BARC to participate and I invite
all properly licensed radio operators to check in. Any topic of interest to
amateur radio operators is welcomed on this net. In the event of repeater failure we will QSY to the 145.410 mhz
repeater, pl tone 100hz. The
Jefferson County Emergency Net is affiliated with the ARRL National Traffic
System. NTS messages may be entered on this net. This is (your
call ) do we have any stations with emergency or
priority traffic? - pause 5 seconds - This is (your
call ) do we have any formal
written traffic? - pause 5 seconds – This is (your
call ) do we have any
official bulletins? - pause 5 seconds – This is a formal net. Please let me know if you must leave
the net early. When your prefix is called, please give your name and callsign
saying your suffix phonetically using standard phonetics. If you have any
announcements or swapshop items, please indicate this when checking in and have
this material ready when called for. I will now begin checkins with the prefix

close? The Birmingham Amateur Radio Club Meets on the first and
third Thursdays at 7:30pm at the Hoover Community Education Center located in
